THE INSIDER
News and gossip from the Diva

After countless meals of sushi, udon, and tasty pickled daikon, I am back in the US of A. Japan was amazing. I am still digesting everything that I saw over there. One of the best things I did was stay in a Buddhist temple for four nights in Kyoto. The peacefulness and tranquility was amazing to find in the middle of a giant city. Waking up to monks chanting would have been really cool, too, if it hadn't been at five in the morning ... Overall, it was a wonderful trip. I would definitely recommend it to the adventurous sort interested in seeing how people live on the other side of the world.

In celebration of Tripod's NEW Site Builder, Maggie treated everyone who gave blood, sweat, and tears to help make it possible a yummy free dinner at Mezze. Knowing you're a valued member of a team (even if you have to be bribed with gourmet food!) feels so good. The Site Builder is a superior building tool, and we're all really proud to have worked on such a useful and handy project. We hope you all have a chance to take a look at the new Builder, and like what you see!

Yesterday was Jay Patrikios' last day on the east coast. Instead of making the move to Waltham, Jay will be joining the west coast Lycos team at Mountainview. Jay's been at Tripod in Williamstown for almost three years, and his (extremely) dry sense of humor will be missed. The Billsville staff is now vegan-free, though we did celebrate yesterday with Tofutti Cuties(R), dairy-free "ice cream" sandwiches. Tofutti was one of Jay's only indulgences as a vegan. We know he'll find more tofu than he can ever eat out on the west coast! Good luck, Jay!

MEMBERSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Get the inside dirt on some of the questions most frequently fielded by our dedicated membership department!

Q: How do I upload files to my Tripod directory?
A: The new Tripod FileManager now provides two (count 'em, two!) ways to upload files to your directory. If you're looking to upload just a few files — up to eight — you can upload them by selecting "single files (8)" in the "Upload via" pull-down menu on the main FileManager page. Find the file on your computer by clicking "Browse" and enter the filename. Click the Upload button on the bottom of the page after you have selected all of the files. Or, if you want to upload more than eight, try uploading a .ZIP file. Once the .ZIP file is uploaded, the compressed files will automatically unzip in your directory.
