Let the BBQing begin!
We loved possessed vending machines!
June 2nd is the day ...
THE INSIDER
News and gossip from the Diva
Gotta love those long weekends! Everyone is looking pretty refreshed
after the Memorial Day weekend. Lots of mountain biking and BBQing,
and the true beginning of the summer season will do that! I heard that
the tag sale on Saturday was a big success. I was sorry to miss it,
but I headed home to spend some quality time with the family. I hope
you all enjoyed the company of family and friends over the weekend,
too!
I don't know if I should be telling too many people about our possessed
vending machine, but I can't help it! For the past few days, it's been
spitting out treats and change. At least we know that it's possessed by
a good (and generous) spirit! Susan and I have scored some M&Ms for the
chocolate jar, and yesterday when Margaret needed a snack, there just
happened to be a bag of Bugles laying around!
Finally, I wanted to talk about this Friday. June 2nd is the last day
at Tripod for everyone who is not moving to the Waltham offices. I
want to say thank you and goodbye to everyone I've worked with that
will be leaving. I don't want to write a list; you all know who you are!
Tripod has been an amazing place to work, and it is decidedly because
of the people here that it is that way. I wish everyone who is leaving
good luck, and that they speedily find another place to work that is
as dynamic and fun as Tripod.

MEMBERSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Get the inside dirt on some of the questions most frequently fielded
by our dedicated membership department!
Q: Why does Tripod use banner advertisements on every member page?
A: Advertising is Tripod's primary source of revenue -- the revenue
that helps defray the enormous cost of hosting millions of Tripod
members' Web sites. The decision to begin advertising on member pages
was made with the help of member feedback. Back in August of '95, Tripod
was faced with a dilemma: How to offer our Web-page hosting services
without incurring operating losses. More than 80% of the members who
responded to a survey felt that advertising on member pages was a good
way to help keep our services FREE. Tripod has had ads on member pages
ever since, and continues to keep members involved with every decision
affecting their pages.
