You'll have to excuse me for waxing poetic in the TOC, but I just
couldn't resist. Don't worry; it won't happen again. Let me explain
what my little poem means. This week, and for the next three, Tripod
Williamstown in its last few moments of glory is host to a hoard of
new membership department employees! They are here learning how to
take care of our customers from the pros -- lucky you! Today we're
having a little mixer in the cafe so that we can all meet one another.
Now the "new number" line. A bunch of Tripodians have already made
the move to the big Waltham office, and we're all having a little
trouble keeping in touch. The phones aren't as simple as they used
to be! The office numbers have two different prefixes out there!
This comes as quite a shock to some of us bumpkins in Billsville
who've gotten so used to our single 458. Guess it means we're moving
to the city!
As we make the month-long transition eastward, this office's population
has dwindled. A lot of people are working a few days a week in Waltham,
and a few days here. The factory halls have been more empty than ever
before. It's been really nice having the new faces and new energy of
the membership trainees around the office. The pool and ping-pong tables
are getting a workout once again. We've got to get the new Tripodians
up to speed so they can compete on the ping-pong tables when they get
to Waltham!
