This company obviously has good taste.

Come to Lycos Music and meet the hottest new artists on the planet through our Fresh Faces Series. Between 4/19 and 5/3 we will be promoting SKrape and From Zero, two emerging rock bands. THE INSIDER
News and gossip from the Guru

Sorry, did you say something? I had my headphones on. Actually, we ALL have our headphones on. You see, the work-pods here at Tripod Central have no walls. This modern design allows for "enhanced collaboration." It also means that we can hear our pod-mates on the phone with insurance companies and significant others. So we opt for an alternative soundtrack. Today, Pete is being Tupac'd, Ames has Nelly Furtado for inspiration, and Todd is attaining inner-peace by singing along to the new Josie and The Pussycats soundtrack.

We're not alone in our "eclectic" (polite for "weird") taste in tunes. A scan of fave Tripod sites turns up an equally varied playlist. You can get funky, Minneapolis style, with the artist sporadically known as Prince. Make an offering to the Hootie deity at a worship temple. Or, if talk of Josie and her prefab cats has you in a retro mood, you can shake your Day-Glo tambourine to 35 (!?) years of Monkee-mania. But be careful. I happen to know you can get tossed off the subway for singing "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You."

BUILDING TIPS AND TRICKS

Want to heat up a room of site builders? Mention frames. There's just no middle ground when it comes to this method of site design. Some folks regard frames as a path to page consistency. Others believe the origin of the "frameset" tag can be traced to the CIA. Webmonkey reveals the shocking truth!

MEMBERSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Get the inside dirt on some of the questions most frequently fielded by our dedicated membership department!

Q: How can I keep my page, which uses frames, from getting multiple pop-up ads?

A: Most browsers display only one pop-up ad per frameset. If you are seeing multiple pop-up ads on a page using frames in your directory, this is most likely a browser issue. Upgrading to the latest version of your browser can eliminate the problem, but it may persist if you are using the AOL browser. AOL browsers interpret JavaScript in a slightly nonstandard manner, and there is nothing we can do about this problem. We apologize for the inconvenience.
