THE INSIDER
News and gossip from the Guru

Let's go back. Way back. Back before every song ever recorded was available online. Before the drink coasters we call CDs began piling up on all flat surfaces. Back to the Vinyl Age. Heck, skip the back button. Vinyl never really left. DJs in search of beats still plumb platters for parts. Audiophiles stockpile turntables rather than switch. And everyone else of a certain vintage just wonders what to do with their old Talking Heads records. If this sounds like you, The Record Collector's Guild is your Tripod-fueled solution. Unless you're looking to sell a near-mint Flock of Seagulls picture disc. Then you may be on your own.

Doing the 9-to-5 shuffle at (your company name here) is not all raises and vacation days. There are meetings to go to and "presentations" to snooze through. Wouldn't it be great if you could replace the same old slide show with something more Web-savvy? You can! Let Webmonkey Kevin spice things up with video, Flash, animations, and more.

MEMBERSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Get the inside dirt on some of the questions most frequently fielded by our dedicated membership department!

Q: How do I make backup copies of my Tripod files?

A: The easiest way to back up your files is with a stand-alone FTP program. Using FTP, you can connect to your Tripod directory using the ftp.tripod.com address. Your Tripod directory will be displayed next to your home computer's directory. Simply select the Tripod files you want to backup, click "download," and the files you've selected will be copied to the desired location on your computer.
