THE INSIDER
News and gossip from the Guru

Some things in life are necessary but not all that much fun. Trips to the dentist. Nutritious foodstuffs like cauliflower. Ads on your page. The list goes on. Now we can't help you with the first two. We've flossed exactly once. Our personal food pyramid defaults to "cheese sauce." But we can help with those pesky ads. Until a better solution comes along (namely, kissing all banners goodbye), we've done the next best thing. Rad Ads. Thanks to our secret formula, you can now customize the ads on your page. Wrap them in one of our ad skins. Add a graphic of your choice, maybe a link or two. Once you're done, you'll hardly recognize them. Which is the point. (Insert mad scientist laugh here.)

BUILDING TIPS AND TRICKS

Everyone likes finding cool fonts. But knowing how and when to use the "font force" is crucial. Pick the wrong type, or worse, use too many variations on the same page and your words of wisdom will be reduced to a bunch of distracting squiggles. Webmonkey whips words into shape.

N E T W O R K    N E W S
Take full advantage of what the Internet has to offer!

Halloween is almost here. Yay! Any holiday where you can dress up like a zombie AND get candy has to be the best. To get in the proper mood, Lilith McLelland, a practicing witch and author of The Salem Witches Book of Love Spells, is dropping by Lycos with the skinny on the spookiest day of the year. Do witches really cast spells? Where can you get fresh "eye of newt" these days. Chat with Lilith and find out!

MEMBERSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Get the inside dirt on some of the questions most frequently fielded by our dedicated membership department!

Q: How do I use a registered domain with my Tripod account?

A: Using a registered domain name with your Tripod account is a simple process. But first, you need to make sure the company you register your domain name with offers Domain Name Redirect, also known as Web Site Forwarding. With Web Site Forwarding, traffic that arrives at your domain name (www.yourname.com) will be automatically redirected to your existing Tripod or Angelfire site address.

Please note: Tripod does not maintain personal DNS information for members. DNS information IS NOT NECESSARY for you to have your own domain Tripod home page. Tripod members cannot maintain personal DNS entries or static IP addresses for their pages as Tripod serves all member pages through the same machines, which are only configured to handle Tripod domains. The "Web Site Forwarding" service acts as the middleman between your domain and Tripod.
