Some things in life you never forget. Your first love. Your first car.
Your first Web address. OK, the last one is a stretch. The URL for my
first site was a mile long, used every letter in the alphabet twice,
and ended with everyone's favorite mystery symbol, the tilde (~).
Telling someone my URL was an adventure. As soon as I'd get to the
tilde part, the person would look at me like I was speaking Norwegian.
So I'd have to make a wavy motion with my finger and say, "you know,
that thing." Tripod's shorter URLs definitely help. But if you want
to go one step beyond and pick your own Web address, check with our
friends at Aplus.Net. They'll even do all the "domain forwarding" magic
to keep traffic flowing to your Tripod account. Now that's memorable.

Everyone has their favorite site building tool. Some folks swear by
Site Builder. Others prefer the wide open spaces of FreeForm. The middle
ground can be found in popular WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)
editors like Dreamweaver, GoLive and FrontPage. If you want to know the

vague, don't you think? The least "they" could do is give you a hint
where your fated mate is hiding. What you really need is an online

If you wish to use an FTP client on Tripod, you'll need to have the
following information handy so that the program can connect and
transfer files to your member directory:
Host name: ftp.tripod.com or ftp1.tripod.com or ftp3.tripod.com
User ID: Your Tripod member name
Password: Your Tripod password
Directory: Leave this field empty if you want to FTP to your root
directory (you can choose a subdirectory later if you wish)
FTP programs vary, but in most cases you will select the files that
you want to upload on your computer and then click either "Upload"
or an arrow to transfer the files to your Tripod directory.
