I never thought I'd have to leave my cozy Editorial nook, secluded from the trafficked hallways and printer stations. Alas, Friday is moving day as well as nearly Halloween. Which explains the Halloween Moving Day party we're throwing tomorrow. I guess they're hoping that with everyone in a candy-induced sugar overdose, no one will mind schlepping all of their stuff (which includes tons of computer equipment) to their new nesting spots. I'll miss the quiet and my view of the golf course. But there's an even better view on the other side of the building where Richard, our senior editor and my desk mate, and I will end up.
There are 22 of us moving that's nearly a third of the company! The reorganization will be good, I think. Richard and I are moving in with the Design team, so we'll be able to collaborate more closely on future projects. I'm excited to move closer to the Design folks they have a blow-up Darth Maul chair, lots of good CDs, and damn fine senses of humor.
Tripodians will be celebrating Halloween again on Saturday night at a big party in North Adams at the Contemporary Artists Center. The CAC is a converted mill with studio and gallery space and lots of room to dance! There will be DJs, bars, go-go dancers, drag kings and queens, a costume contest, and plenty of debauchery! Should prove for a very interesting Insider next week ... tune in next time for some juicy Halloween-party gossip!
