Q. How do I move my files and my old site?
FTP Users: Easy as pie. Simply log on to your old server with your FTP program and download all the files on your site (including any subdirectories and the files within them) to your hard drive. Then log on to Tripod's FTP server and upload the files to the new location.
Non-FTP Users: Almost as easy, but it takes a bit longer. If you have your files backed up on your computer's hard drive, you're halfway there. If not, you need to download all the files to your hard drive. Here are two methods:
 | Method 1: Method 1: Create a folder called "Site Backup" on your hard drive. Then choose "Save As" from the "File" menu of your Web browser, for every page on your site, and save them to your "Site Backup" folder. Note: IE will save your HTML and image files. Netscape users must download image files by right-clicking on each image. |
 | Method 2: Download a program like Website Extractor, Sitesucker, or Websnatcher that lets you save your entire site to your hard drive in one step. |
Once you've downloaded all your files, log-in to Tripod and use File Manager to upload your files. You can upload up to eight files at a time.
IMPORTANT: If you don't use FTP, you will need to remove your previous site hosting service's ad banner code from your HTML files. No matter which method you choose, you may need to adjust your links and image tags to properly reference your new address. We recommend you make all changes to your HTML files before you upload the pages to Tripod.
